Sensex up over 1,300 points, Nifty above 8,150

Equity benchmark sensex jumped over 1,300 points on Wednesday in a highly volatile trade as the Centre stepped up efforts to fight the coronavirus pandemic. The government announced a complete lockdown in the country for period of 21 days to contain the deadly Covid-19 spread.
