Nokia and Flipkart launched a brand new smart TV in India this week. The Nokia 4K smart TV is a 43-inch model that sits below the 55-inch Nokia 4K TV. The newest Nokia TV 43-inch model comes with features like a 4K HDR display with narrow bezels, ‘Infinity-Edge’ viewing experience, Dolby Vision, MEMC technology, JBL Audio, and Dolby Vision support. Given these specifications and pricing, the 43-inch 4K smart TV will take on the likes of the Mi TV 4X 43-inch in the mid-range TV category. Let’s compare the prices, specifications and features of the two smart TVs to see which one offers better value for money.

Nokia Smart TV 43-inch vs Mi TV 4X 43-inch: price

The Nokia smart TV 43-inch price in India is set at Rs 31,999. The Android-powered smart TV will be up for sale on Flipkart from June 8th onwards. The Mi TV 4X 43-inch, in contrast, is listed on Mi.com at Rs 24,999.

Nokia 43-inch 4K smart TV specifications

Nokia TV specifications include a 43-inch 4K UHD (3,840×2,160 pixels) LED flat-screen display. The panel bears 16:9 aspect ratio, 178-degree viewing angle, 300 nits brightness, MEMC technology, and Dolby Vision support. The Nokia Smart TV 43-inch is powered by the CA53 quad-core processor, which is mated with Mali450 GPU and 2.25GB of RAM. There is 16GB storage onboard. The TV runs on Android TV 9.0 and supports OTT apps such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, and YouTube.

The smart TV also comes with Google Play Store, Google Assistant, and smart connectivity options such as 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0. Additionally, the TV pack three HDMI ports, two USB ports, a digital audio output, RF connectivity input, and analog audio input. As for audio, the Nokia 43-inch TV has two speakers with 24W output and JBL Audio, Dolby Audio, DTS Trusurround support. Other features include V-shaped fluid chrome pedestal stand and built-in Chromecast for screen mirroring. The Nokia Smart TV 43-inch weighs about 9.4 kgs with the stand.

Mi TV 4X 43-inch specifications

The Mi TV 4X 43-inch, on the other hand, runs the Android TV platform, but with Xiaomi’s PatchWall 2.0 on top. The PatchWall 2.0 is a custom interface that is touted to have more content-centric approach as it brings together content from all platforms. The new interface also offers a vast library of content from all OTT platforms, including Netflix, Prime Video and Hotstar. And as it runs on Android TV, it comes with support Chromecast, native YouTube app, and more. Xiaomi has also built-in a native data saver mode. 

The Mi TV also features a 4K 43-inch display with 3,840 x 2,160 pixels resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, 178-degree viewing angle, narrow bezels, and Xiaomi’s Vivid Picture Engine. It’s powered by the 64-bit quad-core A53 chipset, aided by Mali-450 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 8GB storage. It comes equipped with 20W built-in speakers, which are backed by Dolby Audio as well as DTS-HD. As for connectivity, the Mi TV 4X 43-inch features dual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, three HDMI ports, two USB ports, one AV port, one LAN port, a RF port, and an S/PDIF port.

Nokia Smart TV 43-inch vs Mi TV 4X 43-inch: which one to buy?

As you can see, Nokia 43-inch 4K smart TV and Mi TV 4K 43-inch both offer similar specifications. However, Mi TV is around Rs 6,000 cheaper and comes with PatchWall interface. The Nokia 43-inch smart TV, on the other hand, promises better sound with its 24W speakers and has double the storage compared to Mi TV. Both TVs can be wall-mounted. Depending on your budget and the kind of features you’re looking for, you can either go for the Mi TV or the new 43-inch Nokia TV.
