Redmi 9 launch seems to be just around the corner as tons of leaks have been pouring in this week. After a GizmoChina report on Friday revealed the Redmi 9 price, RAM variants and colour options, the phone has now seemingly been listed on various e-commerce website. Tipster Mukul Sharma spotted the budget smartphone on a few websites, revealing the Redmi 9 specifications, design and features. They are pretty much in line with what recent reports have told us already, and this all but confirms what we can expect from the smartphone.

The Redmi 9 specifications, as per these websites, will include a 6.53-inch waterdrop display with a FHD+ (2340×1080) resolution. This is expected to be an LCD display, although one retail site mentions AMOLED, which seems unlikely for a budget phone. The phone will come in three colours – Grey, Sunset Purple, and Green colours. The vertical camera setup within a circular module is similar to what we’ve seen on the Redmi K30. The website says, the Redmi 9 comes with an anti-fingerprint texture. 

It seems the Redmi 9 will indeed be powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 chipset, which will offer a 214 percent improved performance compared to the Redmi 8. The Redmi 9 will come in two RAM and storage variants – 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB. Prices are expected to start from $139.99 (approx Rs 10,600) as per yesterday’s GizmoChina report. 

The Redmi 9 will feature a quad camera setup that includes a 13MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The listing also mentions that the phone will house a 5,020mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, IR remote, Type-C port and noise-cancelling microphones. 

There is no word on an exact launch date for the Redmi 9 yet, but with the phone being listed on some website already, we expect Xiaomi to make the announcement later this month.
