Samsung Galaxy M31s spotted on Geekbench; specifications revealed

Highlights
  • Listing suggests that the Galaxy M31s will feature an Exynos 9611 chipset
  • The Galaxy M31s managed to score 347 in the single-core test and 1256 in the multi-core test

We reported exclusively last month that Samsung Galaxy M31s will be hitting the market later this year and now the handset has made an appearance at benchmarking website Geekbench. Thanks to the listing, some of the key details, such as the handset’s chipset, memory, and software version have been revealed. As per the Geekbench listing, Samsung Galaxy M31s (model number SM-M317F) packs an Exynos 9611 chipset, which also featured on the original Galaxy M31. In the benchmarking test, the successor to the Galaxy M31 managed to score 347 in the single-core test and 1256 in the multi-core test. Considering these scores and the fact that the M31s will feature the same processor as the Galaxy M31, it is safe to assume that new M-series handset from Samsung will be a modest upgrade over its predecessor.

Apart from the processor name, the listing also reveals that the Galaxy M31s will pack 6GB of RAM and run Android 10-based operating system, most likely to be the latest iteration of OneUI. Unfortunately, the Geekbench listing doesn’t spill any more details regarding the upcoming M-series offering.

In case you need more storage, there is an option for expandability via microSD card as well. In terms of software, the Galaxy M31 runs Android 10 with the brand’s One UI 2.0 on top.

Talking about cameras, the Samsung Galaxy M31 offers quad camera setup, which consists of a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor, a 5MP depth unit, and a 5MP macro lens. For selfies, you get a 32MP camera up front. Notably, the Galaxy M31 also packs a massive 6,000mAh battery that comes with support for 18W fast charging.
