LG seems to be gearing up to launch a new variant of the LG Velvet smartphone. This new LG Velvet model could be powered by MediaTek MT6883 – the codename for Dimensity 800 SoC – as revealed on the Google Play Console listing. The handset is also said to feature 6GB RAM, Android 10 OS, and FHD+ display with 1,080 x 2,460p resolution and 420 dpi. This is on par with other variants of LG Velvet that rock Snapdragon 765 and Snapdragon 845 SoCs under the hood. While the former is a 5G model, the Snapdragon 845 is a 4G version of the same phone.
The LG Velvet, to recall, sports a 6.8-inch full HD+ pOLED display with 20:5:9 aspect ratio and 1,080 x 2,460 pixels resolution. The handset comes with LG Dual Screen functionality support and a waterdrop notch to house the selfie camera. The phone runs Android 10 OS with LG’s custom UI takes care of the software. In optics, the LG Velvet sports 48MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor for portrait shots. There is a 16MP sensor on the front for selfies and video chats.
There’s an in-display fingerprint sensor for security and Wacom stylus support with 4096 pressure levels. A 4,300mAh battery with fast wired and wireless charging support fuels the phone. Connectivity features include 3.5mm audio jack, 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB Type-C port. The LG Velvet measures 167.2mm x 74.1mm x 7.9mm and weighs 180 grams.
