Govt may reject int'l tribunal’s order on Vodafone

The Centre has said an international arbitration tribunal’s order in the Vodafone case impinges on its sovereign right to tax, in a strong indication that the ruling is unacceptable to it and may not be immediately implemented. The govt might challenge the order, which cited a violation of the India-Netherlands Bilateral Investment Protection Agreement, or may not implement it.
